Discover the PanOptix® Pro lens, now available at our Orange County practice. They’re the latest advancement from the AcrySof® family of lenses, able to give patients an enhanced quality and range of vision after cataract surgery.
The PanOptix® Pro family is the first trifocal lens available in the United States. PanOptix® Pro Trifocal IOLs (Intraocular Lenses) offer an advanced view for patients after cataract surgery, with more vivid colors, sharper vision, and the ability to see clearly at near, intermediate and distance ranges with little need for glasses. This is in comparison to monofocal or multifocal IOLs, where only one or two ranges of vision are improved, with the patient having to rely on glasses or contact lenses to supplement.
PanOptix® Pro Trifocal IOLs placed by our Irvine surgeons may be a solution for you, if:
Before choosing to replace your natural lens with a PanOptix® Pro Trifocal IOL, you should discuss your needs and expectations with a Beach Eye Medical Group cataract specialist at our Huntington Beach office. While PanOptix® Pro Trifocal IOLs offer excellent clarity at near, intermediate and far distance, they may hinder the ability to see clearly in low light situations, such as at night, in fog, or in dimly lit rooms – including reduced contrast sensitivity. Although most of our Orange County patients are happy to make this compromise, you may wish to consider your options if crisp low light or night time vision is a requirement for you.
If you have a history of macular degeneration, retinal pigment, glaucoma, or only one functional eye (e.g. amblyopia or lazy eye), you may not be the best candidate for a trifocal IOL. If you have been diagnosed with cataracts and have a pre-existing eye condition on top of this, the Beach Eye Medical Group specialists of Irvine can evaluate your needs and recommend the best course of action for you.
As one of the most advanced offerings in the IOL market, trifocal IOLs provide vivid colors, sharp vision and excellent views at all distances. As with other IOLs, there are both benefits and risks with the PanOptix® Pro Trifocal family.
As one of the most commonly performed eye surgeries in the world, cataract surgery is a safe and effective procedure. However, like any surgery, there are some rare but possible side effects such as bleeding or infection.
If you have been diagnosed with cataracts and are considering or exploring trifocal IOLs, contact our Huntington Beach or Irvine office for a comprehensive eye evaluation with a cataract specialist.
We serve patients in Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Irvine, and Newport Beach, as well as other Orange County and Los Angeles communities including Fountain Valley, Westminster, and Costa Mesa.
