Dr. Samir Shah has extensive training in cataract surgery and many years experience working as a board-certified ophthalmologist. Having graduated as valedictorian of his college class at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, Dr. Shah then went on to continue his education at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. It was whilst he was a student at the University of Michigan that he was elected by his peers as President of the Medical Student Body. Dr. Shah was chosen to complete his residency at the highly regarded Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
After a successful residency, Dr. Shah was selected to participate in a prestigious and highly sought after fellowship specializing in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the Wilmer Eye Institute at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital. The UCLA Medical Center and the Johns Hopkins Hospital have been respectively rated as Best in the Western United States and Best in the United States by US News and World Report for almost 20 consecutive years! Doctor Shah also studied Shakespeare at Oxford University in England.
